Introducing our 2017 cover artist
Award winning, Brighton based designer-maker Ulrika Jarl is the star behind our fantastic 2017 brochure artwork for The Warren 2017.
Ulrika has illustrated some of Brighton’s most recognisable scenes including Brighton Pier, Queens Park’s Pepperpot, the North Laine as well as street scenes around Hanover. Her unique landscape drawings have splashes of vibrant colour which draw you in to the work, revealing a wealth of detail.
“I am thrilled to have been picked to create the Warren 2017 brochure cover. It has been such an exciting challenge and the idea grew and changed throughout the whole process, adding more of the acts as the site was coming together.”
The front cover features The Warren Entrance, The Warren Main House (our fantastic bowler hat), Woodland Tribe adventure playground and East Coast Bar. In amongst these you will notice a whole host of weird and wonderful characters scattered around enjoying the sun. These are some of the stars of The Warren 2017 Brighton Fringe who will be joining us during the festival. If you think you can spot them all, you and 3 friends could be in with a chance of winning a whole night out at The Warren, completely on us! Find out more
As well as her intricate line drawings, Ulrika also creates stunning lighting and homeware products that feature her illustrations. Her prints and products will be available for sale at The Warren this year. Ulrika has recently moved into 229 Studio on Brighton seafront. Located in one of the King’s Road Arches right by the famous Carousel, she shares the studio with three other artists. It features a small workshop in the back and a lovingly curated shop in the front.
